This week we are continuing to learn about communities (city, suburb, and rural). After learning about each type of community, we got into groups and worked as smaller "teams" to create murals of our very own community. Each group had to draw buildings, people, things, etc. that they would see in our community: Powdersville. They were so cute thinking of some of the places around town. I was able to catch each group working together to create their murals. They did a great job. I forgot to take a picture of the finished product, so I will do that tomorrow and post it soon! Enjoy! :)

Apple Buddies
This week we celebrated Apple Week after hearing Johnny Appleseed talk last week, by bringing in Apple Buddies. Apple Buddies were created at home using an apple and whatever creative & crafty things the children wanted to use to make their buddy. We shared our apple buddies with the class and then read to them and wrote about them. They were allowed to stay on the desks unless they were getting into trouble, then the apple buddies were put in time out...but I am very proud to say--no apple buddies were put in time out! :) Here are some pictures of our apple buddies! Enjoy the creativity of our students!
